Amazing farm stay

Our family trip to a BoerenBed HeerenBoer tent was absolutely fantastic! The kids adored 'Knuffelen met dieren' and spent hours with the farm animals. The 'Houtgestookte kachel ervaring' kept us cozy at night, even without electricity. We even did the 'Pizza avond op de boerderij' and it was delicious. I'm already planning our next 'Familievakantie' for next year!

Nice tent, no electricity

Booked a 'Tenthuisje' for a weekend. The tent was as expected. Beds were comfortable. Cooking on the wood stove was an experience. No electricity, so bring power banks. Kids enjoyed the farm activities. Delivery of local products was good. It was a relaxing stay.

Consistently good experience

This was our third time booking a 'BoerenBed boerderijvakantie', and they remain consistently good. We went for a 'Tenthuisje met eigen douche' in France this time, and it was just as reliable as our previous stays in Belgium and the Netherlands. The online booking always works smoothly, and the farms are always well-maintained. We like that the 'Dieren voeren beleving' is standard; the kids always look forward to it. The quality of the tents hasn't changed, still sturdy and clean. It's comforting to know what you're getting, and they deliver. That's why we keep coming back for our 'Vakantie zonder elektriciteit'.

Good for the price

I was looking for a 'Weekendje weg aanbieding' and found a decent 'last minute aanbiedingen' for a 'Tenthuisje' in the Netherlands. It felt like good value for what we paid. The whole 'Vakantie zonder elektriciteit' was part of the appeal, saving a bit too. I checked a few places, but this offer seemed the best for a family trip. The cost felt right for the experience.

Good family weekend

We booked a 'Tenthuisje met eigen douche' for a weekend. The booking process online was straightforward, no issues there. We received a confirmation email quickly. Getting to the farm was easy enough, about an hour from our place. The tent itself was clean and pretty spacious. The beds were made up, which was nice. We used the wood-burning stove for cooking and it worked well, though it took a bit to get used to. The kids really liked feeding the animals, and the farmer was friendly, showing them around during the 'Dieren voeren beleving'. The shower in the tent was a big plus, definitely worth the extra. No electricity was a bit of an adjustment but we managed fine with the lanterns provided. Overall, a solid experience for a family looking to disconnect.

Relaxing, with minor snags

We chose a 'Tenthuisje met hottub' for a 'Familievakantie' in Germany. The booking was simple, and communication before arrival was clear. The tent itself was very comfortable, and the hottub was a great addition, though heating it took longer than we anticipated the first time. The 'Boerderij rondleiding' was informative, and the kids loved interacting with the animals. Customer service during our stay was responsive when we had a question about the firewood supply. My only minor critique would be that the farm shop had a slightly limited selection when we visited, but we still found some nice 'Boerderijwinkel producten'. Good value for a unique family experience.

Chill farm stay

So, we did this 'Glamping op de boerderij' thing with Boerenbed last month. It was pretty cool! We got one of those tents without electricity, which was actually kinda nice for a change. My husband was a bit worried about the no-wifi part, but he survived, lol. The kids were super into the 'Ponyrijden activiteit' and honestly, just running around outside. We grabbed a 'Lokale streekproducten mand' too, and that was tasty. Everything felt really easy and laid back, just what we needed for a 'Weekendje weg bij de boer'. Definitely felt like a proper break from everything.

Fun weekend away

We booked a TentHuisje for a weekend getaway and it was pretty nice. It was cool not having electricity, felt very relaxing. The kids loved the animals on the farm. Took us about 3 hours to get there from Amsterdam, but it was worth it for the quiet.

Good value for money

I was looking for a glamping experience that wouldn't break the bank and Boerenbed delivered. I managed to snag a last-minute deal for a TentHuisje met hottub. It felt like a splurge, but with the discount, it was totally within my budget. The hottub was a really nice touch after a day of exploring. Definitely felt like I got a good deal for everything included.

I'm looking at BoerenBed versus FarmCamps for a family trip. Anyone have experience with both? What's the main difference?

A Ashley Thompson 1 week ago
I've only done BoerenBed, but from what I hear, FarmCamps is pretty similar. BoerenBed is super focused on the working farm experience and being off-grid.

I think BoerenBed is more about that rustic, no-electricity glamping. FarmCamps might have a bit more modern comforts, but BoerenBed really nails the authentic farm stay with the wood stove and all.

Is it true there's no electricity in the tents? How do people charge their phones or keep things cool?

R Robert 1 month ago
Yup, no electricity. You learn to live without it for a bit! They usually have a central charging point somewhere on the farm for phones, and for cooling, there's usually a cooler with ice packs you can swap out.

No outlets in the tent, that's part of the charm! We just embraced it. For phones, there was a spot at the farm shop to charge them up once a day if needed. Food stayed cool enough in the provided cooler.

Quick question about heating. Do these tents get cold at night, especially outside of peak summer? Are they heated at all?

J Justin Anderson 1 month ago
They have a wood-burning stove! It's super cozy, but you do need to keep feeding it. Adds to the rustic vibe.

A Abigail Scott 1 month ago
Nah, no central heating or anything. But the kachel makes a big difference. Bring some extra layers just in case, especially in spring or autumn.

I saw something about a newsletter discount. Is that actually a real thing or just spam you get?

I Ian Lee 1 month ago
It's real! I signed up for their newsletter and got a code for 5% off my first booking. Worth it for sure.

D Danielle Moore 1 month ago
Yeah, sometimes they send out exclusive deals through the newsletter. It's not a huge discount usually, but every bit helps.

Does anyone know if BoerenBed is cool with dogs? My beagle is part of the family and we'd love to bring him.

D Danielle Martin 1 week ago
Yep, they are! We brought our labrador a few years ago. Just check the specific farm you're looking at, some have more dog-friendly options than others, I think.

Yes, 'vakantie met hond' is definitely an option. You usually pay a small extra fee, but it's worth it to have your furry friend along.
